A word about the lessons here

Our educator resources include activities that we suggest you do with your class to enhance your fieldtrip to Prime Stage. Some activities and lessons are appropriate for the doing before in-class before attending the play, on the bus ride to the theatre, and after you come home. We hope you will take full advantage of the materials provided so that your students have fun and valuable experiences with many teachable moments.

The lessons, which have been designed by fellow teachers and our Education Director, meet PA Humanities and National Standards for Arts Education. Click on the links below or the show that you will be attending and reading in your classroom. You will find many ways to enrich your studies of the literature. Please let us know which sections are most helpful as you prepare your students for a fieldtrip to Prime Stage. Contact us at education@primestage.com.

A word about Theatre Etiquette

Prime Stage is committed to helping you teach new audiences how to enjoy live theatre. Please take the time to instruct your students on proper behavior before attending the performance. Be sure your class is in the theatre and seated before the show begins. If one of your students becomes restless during a performance, please instruct a chaperone to escort that student to the lobby. When seating your group, please disperse your chaperones evenly throughout the group.

A word about Chaperones:
These are suggestions to assist you with monitoring safety and student behavior. Teachers and adult chaperones should be interspersed within your students. Chaperones should NOT bring infant children or school work on field trips as they are a distraction for the student audience as well as the chaperone.

A word about Prime Stage

Prime Stage is a professional theatre which is designed to bring literature to life for you, your students and families. One of our goals is to provide entertaining, engaging and enriching experiences. Appropriate preparation is recommended for each experience so everyone will enjoy themselves as the actors, designers and technicians recreate the literature.

Following each performance, you and your students are invited to stay for our “Chat Sessions” where you and your students can ask any questions about the show, the literature, and Prime Stage.

If you have any questions, you may contact us any time at education@primestage.com.
We look forward to seeing you at Prime Stage.
